Two drugs protect hearing better than one

Whether on a battlefield, in a factory or at a rock concert, noise-induced hearing loss is a common hazard. Jianxin Bao, PhD, and other researchers at the School of Medicine have identified a low-dose, two-drug cocktail that reduces hearing loss in mice when given before they are exposed to loud noise.   • Men’s basketball secures 27th-consecutive winning season. The Bears secured a winning season for the 27th consecutive year with two home victories over New York University and Brandeis University this past weekend. WUSTL closes out the 2010-11 season at home at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, against the University of Chicago. Before the contest, the Bears will honor four seniors  playing their final game for WUSTL: Spencer Gay, Isaiah Honick, Caleb Knepper and Brett Sapp.
